1. Take into consideration the individual's prior learning, interests, and current skills.
2. Provide voice and choice in how and what is to be learned.
3. Learning should be embedded within the context of the teacher's working environment, should be ongoing, and should be supported with coaching, reflection, professional learning communities, and feedback."
