Humbling post of the day
I had a rockstar day once... once! Making videos completes my sole. When I finish making a video and send it out for review I feel like a shop owner locking the doors for the night, or a police officer taking off his badge. There's a finality of the project and I feel complete. I love that feeling. So, one day I completed a video, had a boss praise a different video I completed, and I got an email about winning an award for a video I made. Needless to say, I felt like a rockstar that day.
Then I had a humbling moment of watching this video where this amazing speaker talked about "superchickens" and how they weren't more productive than regular chickens. The video is only 15 minutes, so, check it out. I hope that you feel the same inspiring message that I felt. Here are some highlights from the video. Comment below of your own thoughts.
No voice dominates and no one is the passenger.
Social connectedness – what happens between people really counts…Everybody has a valid perception.
When groups are highly sensitive to each other, ideas flow and grow. Helpfulness is when people are good at giving and getting help. What drives helpfulness is people getting to know each other.
Social cohesion — built every coffee break, every time one team member asks another for help — this leads over time to great results.
Bringing out the best in others brings out the best in ourselves.
It is only when we accept that everybody has value that we will liberate the energy and imagination and momentum we need to create the best beyond measure.
Hat tip to Lamar University for showing me this video!
I can't get rid of this number one. It stays.... I guess.....
