Vision for my school
Robert Bracken Assignment week 5
Articulate your vision for how you will continue to recognize and leverage innovations and as a change agent transform your organization.
I just got done visiting all four of Klein ISD’s high schools to make videos highlighting our Advance Placement courses. From what people tell me, the students have three options, take regular classes, take dual credit classes where you get college credit after completing the semester, or take AP classes challenging yourself and get college credit only if you pay and take an AP test at the end of the year.
One thing we talked about is how this smart AP students want to be challenged everyday. This includes new teaching methods, new assignments, new kinetic learning situations, etc. As we continue to incorporate blended learning into our curriculum we need to stay on top of technology that the brightest students want to use. They want to be the leaders of tomorrow and they will keep making recommendations about how they want to learn. I stay in touch with TCEA - http://www.tcea.org/ as a great networking tool. These students like to “Keep up with the Joneses” and we need to make sure that a student isn’t missing out on a cool learning strategy.
Provide an overview, connect and present your innovation plan, literature review, implementation outline, video and all the other resources that you have created or accumulated in your exploration of disruptive innovation as a catalyst for change and provide encouragement for your organization to move from reaction to pro-action.
My plan for innovation is Blended Learning at Klein ISD. I will lead a training program and utilize existing Klein ISD technology trainers to assist teachers to use video in their classroom. This will be done to enhance learning. This could follow the blended model where students rotate between learning and practicing and it can help Klein ISD teachers who would prefer to implement a flipped classroom model where students can watch a video for instruction and practice at school.
Some projects include creating videos of in class assignments, event recap, homework assignments, and explainer videos. This will give students the ability to access personalized instruction 24 hours a day at their convenience.

Looking at my Literature Review - https://goo.gl/qk9TAc - that supports my innovation plan.
Here’s my implementation outline - https://goo.gl/f4wUFe - where I list a few steps to create a peer-training program to use video in the classroom to enhance learning.
Here’s my promo video - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2ksfBvlwCiDQ2pwbkwwSkVreFE - where I present my vision for creating a blended learning classroom and maximise the district equipment.
Having a blended learning environment at Klein ISD will integrate various learning environments. It will combine instructor-led classroom learning with mobile and online learning.
Identify and annotate a list of books, articles, and resources you would like to read to help you and your organization better understand change, disruptive innovation, and educational technology.
